Welcome to ICW Group! We are looking for an Solutions Architect with experience working with a diverse technology portfolio of SaaS, Package and in-house developed applications to join the ICW Group architecture team in our San Diego, CA Headquarters office. You are an experienced Architect who not only has technology breadth, but also who has experience being the bridge between business and IT stakeholders.

This role will play a large and significant role in major transformational initiatives at ICW Group. As part of a high-performing team of architects, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across ICW Group. As an experienced Architect, you will adeptly collaborate across cross functional teams by employing your superior communication and personal interactions skills. You are a born leader, which means you are always continually learning and growing as you blaze the trail of thought leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the evaluation of technologies, development of roadmaps and definition of architectures

  • Discovers and analyze customers' business and technical problems; apply appropriate solutions to address their needs.
  • Defines, maintains, and manages architecture models, frameworks and artifacts (e.g. current and future state application architecture diagrams, etc.).
  • Develops, reviews, and communicates enterprise-wide architectural policies, standards, guidelines and procedures
  • Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
  • Ensures compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, and strategic requirements.
  • Guides the design of enterprise-wide initiatives to integrate systems; manage and lead all efforts to advance, simplify and educate team members on integration technology platforms.
  • Provides strategic consultation to clients and IT teams/leaders.
  • Consults on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical/solution architecture to accommodate project needs.

Leverages influence, relationship-building, consulting experience, and technology abilities to drive new opportunities and new solutions for business

  • Educates and mentors IT delivery teams on the proper usage of technology and standards.
  • Keeps IT technology and delivery managers aware of key customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.
  • Coordinates architecture implementation and modification activities.
  • Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solution.
  • Works closely with project management to ensure alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
  • Supports proposal development including final scoping, technical sizing and technical risk assessments.
  • Owns the technical engagement and technical delivery of implementation projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field is required.
  • TOGAF, IASA or any other architecture-related certification is strongly desired.
  • Must possess at least 8+ years of experience in IT including 3+ years of experience as an IT Architect or very similar position.
  • Must have strong experience in evaluating technologies, building roadmaps, defining system architectures, and possess the ability to lead technical teams.
  • Proven experience understanding and translating business needs into comprehensive, cohesive solution architectures that meet all functional and non-functional requirements is required.
  • Strong communication skills and experience influencing others outside of the reporting hierarchy are also required.
  • Intermediate to advanced technical expertise in the following areas:
    • Package application implementation
    • SaaS solutions implementation
    • Systems integration
    • Enterprise service bus
    • Service oriented architecture and microservices
    • API management
    • Modern web architecture (e.g., AngularJS, HTML5, responsive design)
  • Experience in the following areas is highly preferred:
    • Mulesoft integration platform
    • Guidewire or Insurity insurance platforms
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Java, .NET, and Salesforce.com
  • Domain knowledge of the P&C and Workers Compensation insurance industry is a plus.
  • Compliance related certification, such CCEP, preferred.
