Job Summary

The Sharing Economy is a rapidly growing, complex and dynamic marketplace. Allstate Business Insurance has taken a leadership position in the Shared Economy and is devoting significant resources to further expand products, capabilities and customers. Our team has successfully executed rapid expansion into rideshare and vehicle-share companies, and we are developing insurance and technology solutions for new customers across auto, home / office, and gig-service models.

Allstate Business Insurance is a ~$650 million operation, poised to be a top 10 Commercial Auto insurer by 2020, and is backed by the resources and strategic vision of Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL).

The ABI Project Management teams primary customers are Allstate Agents, the Shared Economy Team and internal ABI teams and leadership. The Project Management team is responsible for monitoring all aspects of technology projects relating to their customers. This includes pursuit and/or project delivery including scope, timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, assisting with portfolio management and communication. It is the Project Management teams responsibility to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets or exceeds quality expectations.

The Project Management Shared Economy Sr Consultant works with the Allstate Technology Organization and the Shared Economy Team to coordinate, manage and lead the delivery of Shared Economy technology projects supporting both current accounts and prospectively delivering functionality to facilitate growth in the Shared Economy space. Projects and deliverables vary from low to high complexity using strong technical, organizational, and communication skills to complete assignments that support business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • With a moderate level of direction; plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on projects that are up to moderate complexity and are small-to moderate scale using accepted project management standards
  • Forecasts short-term and long-term project deliverables with assistance
  • Tracks own plan performance and project timeline
  • Communicates and presents project status to a variety of audiences including senior executives
  • Ensures project controls are in place throughout the lifecycle of the project within own tasks
  • Provides feedback on project team member(s) when requested
  • Actively builds strong relationships among teams and team members to ensure cooperation on project objectives
  • Assists in the formulation of strategies to achieve plan objectives
  • Assists with managing Shared Economy portfolio and backlog

    Process and Product Design/Improvement

  • Supports the development/ design of new plans, programs, processes, products up to moderate complexity
  • Assists in the development of communication strategies and materials to support new plans, programs, processes, products.
  • Solicits inputs from stakeholders
  • Participates in the evaluation of procedures and processes regularly and makes observations or suggests improvements
  • Can monitor processes throughout team
  • Adheres to internal and external compliance requirements/standards
  • Works to fully understand business processes associated with the work
  • Uses business acumen to help the project team identify solutions to simple business related questions and works to involve other subject matter experts when needed

    Product Management Support

  • Contributes to market share growth and profitability by sharing innovative ideas around changes to products, pricing, risk management and providing Project Management expertise in their respective discipline (s)-is this applicable?
  • Helps determine the integration and delivery needs of planned changes/ projects/products to regions/ field
  • Seeks to understand market specific implications of business strategies
  • Works to ensure compliance to regulatory/ legislative requirements

    Technical Support

  • Provides assistance on systems or applications as needed by a department/discipline
  • Functions as a liaison between business unit and systems or other areas of responsibility as required based on the projects they are assigned to

    Functional Knowledge

  • Continually seeks opportunities for learning and development within their respective discipline(s)

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for their respective discipline(s) from an internal perspective

    Knowledge Management

  • Trains/coaches team members or peers
  • Actively shares expertise with peers

Job Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft product suite (Work, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to create a detailed project plan identifying key days, activities, and resources
  • Has a strong understanding of current Project Management standards to impact decisions and indicate requirements
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to be involved in multiple projects at the same time
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Questions current process in a professional manner in an effort to improve efficiencies, workflow, and user experience
  • College degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a related field
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
