Overview

Responsible for the development of local, independent insurance agents including agency recruiting, agency training, and overall agency success. Intensive interaction with prospective and contracted independent insurance producers required. Able to communicate vision on how to use Federal crop insurance combined with private products available from AmTrust Ag.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to execute territory marketing strategy to drive new business premium growth.
  • Identify, recruit, and build impenetrable relationships with agencies in respective territory.
  • Be the main point of contact for agent questions, training, and education.
  • Analyze market territory and develop annual business plan to service and retain existing customers, increase market penetration and premium growth, and improve the quality of the book of business.
  • Participate in new DSM recruiting, training, and mentoring as needed.
  • Actively participate in weekly sales calls, quarterly and annual sales team meetings.
  • Report all agency activities and maintain real-time accurate forecast through the selling season via CRM software.
  • Work closely with team members in Underwriting and Claims to ensure agent and customer satisfaction.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent preferred plus minimum of 4+ years work experience with a proven track record in an Ag related company or organization.
  • Crop License preferred (or willingness to acquire) in all states within sales territory.
  • A valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales role; a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve results in the crop insurance market.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively convey ideas, trends, technical details, and sales techniques.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products, CRM systems and efficient in email and internet applications.
  • Keep up-to-date regarding current state and federal compliance regulations that affect crop insurance and FCIC/RMA guidelines.
  • Familiar with local farm practices and crops in all regions where policies are written.
  • Handle multiple projects and have solid training, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in a sales role; a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve results in the crop insurance market.
  • Effectively manage and maintain peer and business relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.

Travel:

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time as required by role, under all weather conditions, via company provided vehicle.
