This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of pay. This position directly reports to the General Manager and is responsible for providing outstanding and effective customer service to all external and internal customers, orally and in writing. This position also provides outstanding and effective administrative support, such as general office, data entry, email communications, and accounting work, to the underwriting department. All duties are to be performed in a prompt, accurate and professional manner and in accordance with the Companys Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Functions

  • Provides outstanding service to all policy holders, business owners, agents and brokers, and ensures they are properly assisted via phone, email and/or in person.
  • Recognizes every customer interaction as an opportunity to build, strengthen or grow a business partnership and performs accordingly.
  • Acts as an effective business liaison for all of the Companys subsidiaries, ensuring all communications are routed to the correct recipient in a prompt, accurate and professional manner.
  • Resolves customer complaints and concerns with empathy and respect.
  • Completes appropriate policy actions including but not limited to policy issuance and the processing of, reinstatements, endorsements, cancellations, declinations and billings.
  • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions, ensuring accuracy of all data while working in multiple computer programs.
  • Handles mail and document processing which may include scanning, faxing, distribution, filing, photocopying, correspondence and record keeping.
  • Performs duties at the buildings front desk and in an assigned cubicle.

This position has no managerial/supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Though some flexibility in hours may be allowed, the employee must be available during the companys regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm and for additional time outside of regular business hours, to support the companys business needs.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 1 year in an outward facing customer service position.
