The Travelers Service Management team is seeking a talented individual to work with our existing team to adapt our processes and tools to support Travelers as a digital insurer.  We support methodologies like Agile, Kanban, and CI/CD while continuing to ensure the stability of our customers and stakeholders by applying ITIL Best Practices.  The Service Management team is a part of the Global Technology Services (GTS) division.  GTS is an international organization providing infrastructure and application support across the Travelers enterprise.  
 
  • Collaborate with team members and IT / Business partners to identify and implement the best solution for the situation being addressed
  • Perform / participate in the analysis, solution development, programming, and configuring of vendor and Travelers software or infrastructure for assigned projects, enhancements, or operational requests
  • Transform user stories based on business specifications into organized technical activities and deliverables
  • Ensure the use of automation for repeatable processes and integrations where feasible
  • Develop into a subject matter expert for assigned applications, systems, and technologies with the ability to lead development and operational efforts
  • Ensure work complies with Travelers Engineering standards, specifications, processes, and protocols
  • Participates in the evaluation of vendor products and services
  • Build partnerships across the technical, business, and vendor communities
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed


Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 5 years of experience in Application / Technology support preferred.

Preferred qualifications/experience include:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical, analysis, debugging and problem-resolution skills
  • Proficient in server infrastructure technologies including Linux RHEL and Windows implementations on virtual and physical environments
  • Proficient in automation tools for installation and configuration such as VMWare, Puppet, and Jenkins
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages and source code management repositories
  • Experience with creating automation using scripting and / or web services
  • Experience with SQL or other relational databases
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly-collaborative team environment
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new applications and technologies
     
  • The following knowledge and skills are a plus:
  • Exposure to ITIL and Service Management
  • Exposure to UI development
  • Exposure to Test Driven Development
  • Exposure to Kanban, Agile, or SAFe methodologies
  • Exposure to security protocols


High School diploma or equivalent required. 3 years of experience in Technology required.
