Programmer Analyst

Summary: Provides reporting, analysis, design, programming and support for applications and databases used to support the Business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Application modifications and enhancements as assigned by the business or IT Manager.
• Troubleshooting and fixing application bugs.
• Data analysis and adhoc reporting.

  Education and/or Experience

  Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Knowledge/Skills

• Goal oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve, working closely with others to coordinate and complete projects.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be dedicated to quality, highly organized and efficient.

Computer Skills

Visual Basic, VBA, SQL Server, Access programming, XML

• Technologies for this position include: Strong MS Access programming experience, XML, MS SQL Server with a strong emphasis on SQL language skills.
• Capable of understanding relational database structures. 
• Knowledge of databases and general website functionality is required. 
• Database administration of Microsoft SQL Server databases and related subsystems.
• 5-7 years development/support experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot existing applications, develop ETL processes for data extracts/analysis. 
• Insurance data analysis skills are a very big plus.
