Job Description

The AIA Strategy and Operations Consultant position will act as Business Analyst and Project Manager supporting and contributing to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Responsibilities will include pursuit and/or project delivery including initial analysis, identifying scope, establishing timelines, resources, budget, risks and issues, relationships, and communication. The consultant must be capable of independent leadership and providing all aspects of analysis and management of projects that have varying levels of risk, versatility, organizational span, and business complexity.

Business Building & Project Management

  • Performs business analysis, and drives project execution. Provide direction and oversight throughout project lifecycle to project team to meet applicable business requirements
  • Working knowledge of Allstate processes performed by other areas and how they interact
  • Good, concise communicator of business goals, objectives methodology and functions
  • Interprets and draws conclusions from business data, demonstrating an understanding of overall business needs and desires that apply to a project or effort
  • Using a good understanding of the business, customer and field needs, provides thought leadership, innovative ideas and direction in support of senior leadership
  • Leads projects that aide in the development of new plans, programs & processes up to moderate complexity

Strategic Thinking

  • Analyzes and directs strategic initiatives and/or projects of moderate to high complexity and impact including business and technology needs
  • Builds and maintains relationships with business and technology partners needed to drive project execution
  • Works cooperatively with project team members, field leaders and AIAs.
  • Ability to perform within periods of ambiguity

Fosters Improvements

  • Engages appropriate resources to resolve issues and identifies contingency plans and alternative solutions as needed
  • Clearly and effectively communicates basic ideas and information to others
  • Contributes to thought leadership in the AIA organization
  • Seeks and utilizes relevant functional, business, and technical knowledge to identify and recommend the best solutions for Agencies and staff. Solves problems and looks for innovative solutions.

This position is available in Charlotte, NC or Northbrook, IL.

Job Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 2+ years of work-related experience preferred
  • Demonstrate track record in delivering moderately complex projects with a strong focus on execution
  • Good written/verbal communication and strong facilitation skills for communicating at all levels
  • Demonstrate strong skills in team leadership, conflict management, and influencing
  • Demonstrate experience in managing projects and performing business analysis
  • Good consultative, collaborative, customer focus skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Basic presentation and facilitation skills
