Job Family Summary
The Pricing Technician family is within our Product Operations department works closely with actuarial, quantitative analysts, underwriting and coverage consultants to implement pricing and underwriting changes for Allstates various lines of business. Our responsibilities include interfacing with the different business units as well as internal customers. Customers include technology, state filings, other cross-functional teams within Product Operations, and state Departments of Insurance.

Job Summary
The Pricing Technician Analysts role is to problem solve and make business decisions by supporting diverse projects including rate and rule changes, data calls, compliance projects, system inquiries and a variety of ad-hoc initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in-depth training and learn insurance basics for product and technician responsibilities, specifically processes and expectations
  • Contribute to comprehensive timelines and project work plans to coordinate basic requirements of projects across various disciplines (Actuarial/Underwriting/Technical/Legal), including formal documentation and communication to interested parties;
  • Learn state regulatory environment and specific regulations to determine the implementation of pricing and underwriting changes
  • Assist in implementing rate and rule changes and other significant Pricing initiatives which includes;
    • Providing business requirements by adopting template system requirement documents
    • Representing pricing in implementation meetings with different systems and business partners
    • Contributes to test plan and completes all testing validation associated with the project, and providing SOX sign-off
    • Managing the project throughout to ensure all team members are meeting expected timelines to ensure effective on-time implementation
  • Create rate and rule Filings, and the associated communications with a given Department of Insurance (including Responses to Objections and Department Inquiries)
  • Develop understanding of the pricing and product and use this understanding to own basic compliance projects and resolve business inquires with support;
  • Create all post-implementation documentation associated with projects, including ensuring that documentation components are completed.

Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or related experience Preferred
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Basic problem solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic decision making skills
  • Good communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Basic time and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Works effectively in a team environment
