Job Description
The Strategy and Reporting Manager will be primarily focused on Strategy and Planning, providing essential reporting and strategic communications at Senior Leadership and Board level. The role assumes accountability and responsibility for the Information Security executive reporting, including reviewing and communicating the execution of our cyber security strategy, critical initiatives and priorities, performance metrics, risks and threats, incident response processes and remediation activities. This will require the formulation of clear and concise material for presentation to a variety of audiences across the enterprise, including, the Allstate Board of Directors, Allstate VPs/SVPs/EVPs, Risk Management Committees, Regulatory Compliance Committees and Individual Departments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the establishment of the cybersecurity strategy, leveraging multiple innovation techniques inclusive design thinking. The overall goal is to build a strong and trusted advisory relationship with key stakeholders. This role interfaces heavily with senior executives from across the enterprise to consistently and effectively design, plan and develop materials to articulate the Allstates cybersecurity strategic execution plans and priorities. In addition, responsibilities will include both operational and strategic reporting, communicating the near-term objectives and key results, and connecting them to the business priorities, objectives, and longer-term strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities includes (but is not limited to):
- Facilitate the ongoing refresh of the Cybersecurity strategy
- Creation and communication of senior executive level reporting on program status, performance, issue resolution and achievements
- Document key activities and action plans undertaken by the Information Security Program(s) and supporting strategies
- Design and lead the business centric continuous improvement activities; process management and reengineering, incremental innovation through Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis
- Build strategic partnerships through ongoing engagement with AIS leaders and team members to ensure alignment with technology transformation goals and objectives, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
- Influence technology, business and risk leaders to ensure timely implementation and effective execution of transformation initiatives
- Ensure design and reports are aligned with the AIS Information Security Controls, Program, Policies, and Standards
- Refresh pieces on executive-reporting cadence or as needed by the business
- Perform appropriate market, customer, agent and competitive intelligence and transform this intelligence into actionable pieces of the Allstate Information Security Strategy
Job Qualifications
- 7-10 years of Insurance industry knowledge, including products, regulatory environment and distribution systems or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of executive-level reporting and communications
- 5-7 years of experience in all the functional areas: Strategy and Planning, Business Process Management, Project Management, Communications, or Information Security-related role, Business Consulting (preferably within financial services involving regulatory or contractual information security compliance projects)
- 5+ years of Financial management, and designing and implementing complex strategic programs and initiatives
- Relevant postsecondary education and/or industry certification preferred (i.e., CISA, CISSP, CISM)
- Mastery of professional verbal and written communications, who can also assist in building and presenting complex cybersecurity topics to senior management using a variety of communication mediums
- Ability to manage to concurrent competing and changing deadlines and objectives, quickly assess issues and concerns while bringing those issues to quick resolution
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of the work impacting a technology business, along with the associated risks and mitigation plans.
- Ability to digest complex security challenges, summarize technical details and establish simple, yet thorough communications apropriate for each audience.
- Experience creating business strategies and achieving a desired future-state vision through influence on individual and group goals, and in alignment with corporate objectives and priorities
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to critically analyze technical information in a logical and methodical manner and make data-driven decisions
- Highly motivated leader and self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex, fast paced organizations, partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, and achieving results
- Strong management experience in a matrixed environment, as well as experience in managing technology and/or business services in the financial sector at scale
- Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business and technology leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
- Experienced in continuous improvement, lean six sigma and change management with a consistent drive towards these activities
- Strong technical skills including experience in writing technical training documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Expertise in tools such as Microsoft Office and 356 applications, as well as Learning Authoring/Development tools such as Camtasia, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
