AAA East Central is looking for an energetic, driven, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Automotive Services External Trainer at our East Liberty office. This position presents Emergency Road Services (ERS) instructional courses to all independent contract station (ICS) operators and their employees while promoting continued cooperation between contract stations and AAA. Compensation begins at $18.66/hr. and is based upon relative experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Organizes and administers training specific to the AAA Battery Service Program to all participating contractors and their drivers, including battery tester training, sales conversion skills and battery installation techniques
  • Conducts formal classroom seminars, workshops and presentations to ICS regarding ERS rules, policies and regulations while logging participant attendance
  • Develops training initiatives and schedules as appropriate to drive service quality improvements
  • Organizes and administers technician customer service and soft skill training to maintain and improve ongoing AAA Automotive Quality Standard 12 performance scores
  • Delivers tow and light duty technical skills training to all ERS contract garages including safety techniques, roadside problem solving and proper hook-up and tie down procedures
  • Delivers digital dispatch device training to all participating contractors and drivers
  • Creates training aids, measures progress and provides ERS management with feedback
  • Travels to all East Central regional areas to accomplish required training tasks as needed across a variable schedule

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent required. Advanced education (business or technical school college degree) preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated knowledge of automotive electrical systems required
  • Any specific certification, licensing or training as proof of industry-specific experience
  • Previous training, coaching and mentoring experience required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with an individual or in a group environment
  • Knowledge of emergency road service and tow truck operations preferred
  • PC literacy including experience with word processing and spreadsheet software required. Basic understanding of database programs and software preferred
  • Valid driver license, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle record and minimum limits of automobile liability insurance required
  • Geographic knowledge of club territory preferred with ability to travel throughout the market
  • Successful completion of pre-employment criminal background check and drug test
