Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of quality applications to AMERISAFE users and customers that meet requirements with minimal defects and minimal downtime
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a test library containing test plans and/or cases for all critical applications
  • Responsible for training, mentoring, and supervising the QA group to include setting clear expectations and appropriate level of urgency
  • Responsible for acquiring and maintaining a thorough knowledge of QA concepts and critical business processes
  • Responsible for planning test schedules in support of business requirements and allocating appropriate resources
  • Responsible for maintaining, communicating, and reporting on QA SLAs, as well as systems and processes for tracking and guiding reported issues
  • Responsible for executing QA strategy and processes including tool selection, automation approach, and QA metrics development
  • Responsible for all aspects of the testing process (including hardware, environments availability, and test methods as necessary) and the production release process
  • Responsible for evaluating test results compared to expected results and recommending improvements or corrections to test plans, scripts, and software design as needed
  • Responsible for executing processes for collecting and tracking quality metrics and reporting to IT Management as required
  • Responsible for fostering an atmosphere of quality throughout the entire department
Qualifications

  • Relevant BS/BA degree and five (5) years of work experience or equivalent combination of training, certifications, and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in QA-related IT work preferred
  • Experience successfully implementing QA automation and SDLC concepts
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively with development teams to produce high quality software products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and evaluative skills for decision making
  • Excellent organizational, reporting, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation and attitude
  • Demonstrated ability in creative thinking, self-direction, and initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends and travel occasionally
