  • Direct the marketing of personal, commercial, and life activities in the territory to achieve established profitability and/or production objectives
  • Provide technical and field underwriting expertise to the agency force
  • Develop, negotiate and execute business plans for selected agencies in accordance with company underwriting and sales objectives
  • Point person for all sales initiatives.  Responsible for driving new business quote activity and results
  • Recruiting of new agencies and processing new agency appointments and sales within the territory
  • Within assigned territory monitor agent results (production, profit, pricing, loss ratio, hit ratio, etc.) for the purpose of managing performance and developing corrective actions where necessary in accordance with company standards
  • Work closely with underwriting and service team(s) to ensure service levels are met for assigned agents and communicate regularly with these teams
  • Collaborate with underwriting team to ensure understanding and agreement of territory and individual agent strategies
  • Monitor local marketplace, develop competitive intelligence, and make recommendations regarding new and/or existing products/programs
  • Make systematic calls on the agent to aid the agent in sales, underwriting and education of the agent or any personnel within the agency
  • Must communicate to the agency force, company philosophy, company policy and method of doing business.  Must provide the motivation and help establish agency objectives and goals in all lines of business
  • Conduct periodical sales and educational meetings for agency force for the purpose of promoting contests and production
  • Conduct periodic agency performance reviews with Sales Management and Underwriting teams.  Create action plans to improve agency performance (sales and/or profit)
  • Assisting and training agencies in using our Company Intranet website
  • Attend our company trips when invited
  • Maintain an Agency Call Report through the internet.  Reporting dates, times and what was discussed on each monthly agency call
  • Attend quarterly field meetings at the Home Office and annual award banquets.
  • Maintain a positive image and build strong agency relationships
  • Support Life Specialist in generating sales, identifying opportunities, and educating agency force
  • Other duties as assigned
