Reporting Analyst


Position Overview
The Reporting Analyst position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a consistent process for collecting, manipulating and analyzing clients health plan data and communicating results to team members and clients. The Reporting Analyst will support Account Executives in their strategic planning and will participate in client presentations as requested.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and delivering Lovitt & Touches health plan reporting for all Benefits clients who receive this service
  • Develop relationships with insurance carrier representatives in order to obtain necessary data and interpret data accurately
  • Develop solid relationships with Producers and Account Executives; develop an understanding of how reporting ties in to our overall consulting strategy; identify ways to use reporting and analytics to enhance advice provided to clients
  • Develop knowledge of our internal reporting system; maintain system and reporting process; make recommendations for future enhancements; insure that system is providing relevant, valuable, accurate results
  • Assist in preparing bid specifications for Requests for Proposal (RFPs) based on analytics
  • Prepare client presentations to deliver analytics; develop effective methods for communicating how analytics can be applied when making design decisions
  • Responsible for electronic file maintenance, along with ongoing filing and documentation of analytics-related meetings and issues
  • Plan, prioritize and complete reporting in a timely manner ensuring internal/external deadlines are met
  • Conduct all business in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Attend onsite and offsite client meetings as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in employee group benefits with at least 1+ years exposure to underwriting, financial analyst or reporting concepts
  • Licensed in Arizona Health, Life and Disability (or ability to be licensed within 3 months of employment)
  • Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ability to develop and work with mathematical formulas
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external parties
  • Ability to clearly communicate related concepts and educate others on analytics
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers and peers
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

Preferred:

  • Some college or technical training in related discipline
  • 1-2 years underwriting experience with a health insurance carrier
  • Continuing education such as RHU, REBC, CEBS, or CBP


Working Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled office environment
  • General technology as it relates to office administration
  • Regular business hours with additional hours required during certain periods
  • Occasional travel to client sites within AZ; Minimal travel possible outside of AZ
  • Some lifting of up to 50 pounds required during transportation of presentation and client materials
