Manager of Accounting Operations


The Manager of Accounting Operations is responsible for managing and overseeing functions performed by the Accounting Operations group. This is a dynamic group responsible for various key activities in the financial close process. The manager will also interface with both internal and external stakeholders and serve as a financial project lead or subject matter expert on assigned projects.


  • Managing the global process to capitalize acquisition costs (DAC)
  • Leading the preparation of consolidated analytics
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations
  • Leading ad hoc and/or strategic projects
  • Leading the remediation of control deficiencies
  • Reviewing certain reporting entity financial close packages
  • Reviewing certain financial statement footnotes
  • Coordinate with the SEC reporting team throughout the financial close process
  • Proactively identify enhancements or efficiencies to the financial close process
  • Coordinate directly with internal/external audit groups and be responsive to all requests
  • Oversee and manage procedures for certain key responsibilities to support internal controls over financial reporting, and consistently review these procedures for enhancements
  • Provide job specific training and feedback to team members and serve as a mentor to staff

  • Bachelors degree or higher in accounting or finance
  • Moderate understanding of insurance concepts and accounting, preferred
  • 5-8 years accounting/finance experience
  • Public accounting/Big 4, preferred
  • CPA designation required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn new software programs
  • Travel required
