Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage requirements for project enhancements for new programs/systems, changes to existing programs/systems, and/or workflow/processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Evaluate business requests to determine feasibility, work with various business units to define alternatives and recommend optimal solutions while acting as a business subject matter expert
  • Ensure common processes are developed at an enterprise level to include efficiency gains in workflow
  • Prepare business specifications incorporating considerations for various operational areas, systems, workflows/processes, and submit request for programming enhancements and/or changes
  • Maintain requirement specifications document and records, checklist, approvals, project time tracking
  • Manage requirements traceability and track requirements changes during project lifecycle
  • Communicate, interact and present business specifications across a large spectrum of business units
  • Coordinating with business units by supporting ad hoc requests for research and requirements
  • Work with management to answer questions, address issues and gather data
  • Identify areas of enterprise process improvement
  • Perform quality assurance testing and manage agency data as needed

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • Experience in Policy Services and/or Sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Effective listening, communication, interaction, discretion, and diplomacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze problems and create effective recommendations

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio
  • Senior level experience in Policy Services and/or Sales
  • Thorough knowledge of numerous states and various product lines including workflow, work processes, procedures and guidelines
  • Project management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the policy processing systems
  • Working knowledge of the various systems within the company
  • Ability to understand and translate user needs into business specifications
