Role Value Proposition:

The Senior Contract Manager will be a key member of the Procurement team, responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating and closing complex third party agreements. The Sr. Contract Manager partners with internal and third parties to source various products and services, often managing multiple contract negotiations concurrently. The Sr. Contract Manager also collaborates with Information Technology, Legal, Risk and Compliance subject matter experts to ensure agreements are consistent with Brighthouse Financial procurement and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting and negotiating the following types of agreements using either Brighthouse Financial or vendor agreement frameworks:
    • Master Services Agreements
    • Software License and Support Agreements
    • Data and Cloud Services Agreements (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
    • Statements of Work
    • Service Level Agreements
    • Amendments
    • NDAs
  • Manage Contract Workspaces for all assigned Contracts to ensure all contracts are executed per policies, uploaded to system, linked to applicable purchase orders, updated with all required data including expiration/renewal dates, product information and related licensing terms
  • Provide ongoing support and analytics for procurement activities and ensure adherence to Brighthouse Financials Procurement and Third Party Risk Management policies

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline, Juris Doctor or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of contracting experience
  • Experience with e-Procurement systems including procurement, sourcing and contract modules preferred
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, problem solving, decision-making and consensus building skills
  • Experience negotiating a broad range of issues that arise in the context of commercial transactions (e.g. indemnification, limitation of liability, confidentiality, security)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with focus as a service provider to external and internal clients
  • Knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies
