Our fast paced in-house legal office located in Henderson, NV is currently looking for an experienced Legal Secretary/Paralegal. This office handles claims brought against the company. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a steady workload and the opportunity to improve skills assisting litigators. The preferred candidate will have experience working in personal injury litigation, not be intimidated by difficult clients, and work well in a team environment.


  • Open and close new legal files using Abacus case management system
  • Locate and maintain contact with difficult clients and assist with responding to incoming discovery requests including but not limited to meeting with clients to draft answers to discovery requests and confirming discovery responses are timely served this will be a primary task, follow through is required
  • Maintain a legal diary for multiple attorneys
  • Handle in-take of mail and faxes
  • Gather and organize exhibits, documents, and trial data
  • Multi task without issue
  • Follow directions as given
  • Handle general office tasks as needed i.e. faxing, scanning, answer incoming calls, dealing with administrative issues, etc.


  • Legal Assistant/Paralegal Certificate or Associates Degree in legal/paralegal studies or equal experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in paralegal or legal services in a corporate and/or law firm setting, Insurance defense is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Wiznet e-filing system
  • Familiar with Civil, Arbitration procedures/filings Familiar with District Court, Justice Court and Washoe Reno 2nd District Courts procedures/filings
  • Be able to open new legal files and close legal files
  • Be able to prepare and file pleading documents and discovery documents while consulting with the attorney
  • Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Investigates facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly
  • Maintain a legal diary for multiple attorneys
  • Handle general correspondence between outside law firms, clients, and insurance carriers.
  • Have the ability to speak with outside law firms to schedule depositions and other meetings as needed
  • Have the ability to handle general office tasks as needed.
  • Be able to type at a rate of 65 words per minute.
