AAA East Central is looking for an energetic, driven, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time (37.5 hrs/wk) Safety and Legislative Affairs Clerk at our East Liberty office in the Administration department. This position works between the hours of 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday. Compensation begins at $10.40/hr. and is based upon relative experience.
  • Answers telephone, responds to general questions and directs callers to appropriate staff members
  • Acts as receptionist by providing entry to Administration area and greeting individuals
  • Monitors inventory, orders supplies and completes pooled order forms from AAA National; Reviews supply levels with Safety Department staff
  • Types and files general correspondence for the Safety Department
  • Schedules all Driver Improvement Program and Mature Driver classes, collects all associated fees, prepares course materials and certificates
  • Maintains files for safety/legislative activities
  • Maintains and updates departmental mailing lists for schools, police departments, libraries and other partner organizations
  • Assists other administrative staff with projects and overflow work
  • Performs other related duties as required or as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years related administrative assistant experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative assistant skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks on a daily basis
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and PowerPoint software
  • Ability to operate office equipment and perform basic accounting duties
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
