Our growing organization is seeking strong expertise in CLO Compliance and Operations.

Assurants internal investment portfolio (approximately $11 billion) is managed by its in-house asset management division, Assurant Asset Management (AAM). In addition, Assurant Investment Management (AIM), an SEC registered investment advisor (RIA), was recently formed to leverage internal credit and real estate expertise to begin a targeted third-party asset management business. This includes establishing both a real estate fund and a collateralized loan obligation (CLO) platform.

Assurant is hiring an experienced individual to play a key role within the Investment Operations team with specific focus on the growing CLO platform, including compliance, reporting, operational set-up, and coordination of loan closings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the other members of the CLO operations team on all stages of CLO life-cycle from warehouse phase through effective date, declaration process, reinvestment period and end of life
  • Coordinate with outsourced settlement team to manage timely settlement of loans with close monitoring of cash positions
  • Daily portfolio administration including providing PM with daily cash balances, and positions & cash reconciliations
  • Weekly attribute tie-out with trustee
  • Monthly reconciliation and tie-out of all custodian reports for one or more funds or CLOs
  • Review and reconcile monthly trustee reports and quarterly waterfall distribution reports
  • Liaise with trustee and other vendors on all operational issues relating to CLOs
  • Assist team with KYC and counterparty on-boarding process
  • Work with team on RFP data compilation, CLO investor requests
  • Assist with periodic audit requests and liaise with audit team
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 5 years of experience in a CLO Compliance or administration at an asset management firm
  • Limited travel required
Other requirements and preferred qualifications:

  • High level of proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • High level of proficiency with Wall Street Office (WSOWEb and Compliance Module)
  • Must be comfortable reading and interpreting Indentures.
  • Experienced with all LSTA settlement terms/rules
  • Experience with loan closing platforms (Clearpar, TSI)
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to work in a team but also understand instructions quickly and work independently
  • Must be pro-active, self-motivated, assertive and well organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively within the firm as well as externally
  • As a covered person of a registered investment advisor the position will require adherence to policies including, but not limited to, a code of ethics and personal trading policy
