Job Description

Job Summary

Directly oversee and lead the Utilization Review department team members to ensure daily work product and customer service meets expectations, including compliance to company policies, goals, and benchmarks. Serve as primary contact with assigned clients in order to produce a plan of action to process medical requests for treatment in a timely and accurate fashion and provide recommendations and resolution in managing any issues.

  • Maintain efficient workflow and timeframes by establishing appropriate procedures
  • Maintain all Company operational performance goalsand quality standards
  • Continually monitor, evaluate and improve workflow and processes
  • Communicate daily, monthly, quarterly activities of UM Team to Manager of FROI/UM
  • Provide leadership to team members by coaching, evaluating, and providing feedback on performance in a timely fashion
  • Utilize team building and counseling skills with team members to further their professional growth
  • Maintain ongoing Associate Recognition activities through an approved plan
  • Interview and recommend hire of new associates
  • Consult with Manager and HR Dept. on potential feedbacks/disciplinary actions and then provide to associate in a timely fashion
  • Improve operational performance via analyses of processes and reports
  • Provide/assure timely performance evaluations/reviews on all team members
  • Maintain excellent customer service provided by all team members
  • Coordinate special client needs, such as, implementation, special handling instructions and training
  • Meet with both internal and external customers to identify and resolve issues
  • Contribute to overall department success by identifying and resolving issues



Current unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse (RN) or practical nursing/vocational nursing within the applicants resident state


Associates, Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience in workers compensation, health care, insurance, rehabilitation or claims management


1+ years leadership experience, such as a mentor, trainer, client services, and/or quality auditor within workers compensation industry


1-3 years management related experience and 1-3 years of experience handling Workers Compensation Utilization review in a multiple jurisdictions.

Above average computer skills with demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
