Are you a Visual Designer with 5+ years of experience? Do you like the fast-paced agency world but prefer the stability of a corporate setting? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative team setting yet being the user experience and graphic design expert? If so, then lets talk!

As a member of OneBeacons Marketing & Communications team, youll help to create compelling digital and print designs that articulate our brand standards and enable targeted customer experiences. Current initiatives include web design, marketing campaigns, infographics, video editing, user experience (UX) and more.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Serves as a creative consultant.
Contributes to consulting and planning services related to online and offline marketing and communications initiatives in support of corporate and business unit objectives in partnership with the balance of the Marketing & Communications team. Collaborates with the team to develop online creative strategies in support of integrated marketing and communications plans. Remains aware of emerging visual design trends, technologies and resources to ensure current practices.

2. Helps extend our brands visually across various channels.
Contributes to defining OneBeacons corporate and individual business units visual identity through the execution of high caliber design using a range of communication channels (primarily digital, but some print, merchandise, etc.)

3. Designs websites, desktop applications and mobile apps including both architecture and UI.
Designs websites, desktop applications and mobile apps including both architecture and user experience (UX). Produces site maps, wireframes and mockups presenting the organizational structure and user experience for OneBeacons business and service groups based on projects managed by the teams communications consultants. Applies design and usability principles and best practices to contribute to online experiences that are compelling, visually engaging and user-focused to enable targeted experiences.

4. Collaborates with in-house developers.
Collaborates with OneBeacons web team to design responsive CSS, HTML, Javascript and CMS-friendly websites. Delivers design concepts and specifications to in-house web developers for implementation and supports user acceptance testing.

5. Contributes to marketing plans and campaigns.

Designs assets for marketing campaigns including advertising banners, landing pages, emails and social media graphics in support of client business objectives.

6. Enables businesses to deliver high-caliber branded messaging through various l communication tools.
Creates designed templates including e-newsletter communications, presentations, and promotional product sheets. Handles production efforts associated with printed collateral including providing job specifications, monitoring job traffic and attending on-site press checks when necessary to ensure quality control.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat; Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Demonstrates user experience design proficiency including creating sitemaps, wireframes and mock-ups to visually present user flows, design concepts and information architecture to clients.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color, composition and hierarchy and how these elements interact to create compelling design solutions.
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate in both the business and technical environments.
  • Able to manage multiple projects from start to finish including communicating with Marketing and Communication team members and securing and recording stakeholder approvals.
  • Comfortable working in both the Windows and Mac environments.
  • Familiarity with content management publishing platforms.
  • Proven self-starter with demonstrated creative instincts; exceptional conceptual thinker; innovative.
Education and Experience:
  • B.A. or B.F.A. with a graphic design focus.
  • 5+ years of digital; design experience in a corporate or agency setting.
  • UX design experience preferred.
