Under moderate supervision, participate in the development of automated solutions in support of audits and compliance reviews of various technology and business functions and strategic data knowledge development. Identify risks and controls, execute specific testing procedures, and document results and conclusions reached. This job does not manage others.

Assesses key business and data risks and controls, then designs, develops and tests automated solutions to verify controls are operating effectively and as intended. Collaborates with internal audit teams and business partners in interpreting business rules, controls and data requirements. Attends meetings to understand data flows and translate business requirements into technical specifications. Documents CAAT test objectives, code, and results in accordance with department documentation and deliverable standards. Develops new, innovative approaches for addressing business problems. Utilizes independent judgment and discretion to analyze and summarize large amounts of data using CAATs. Prepares documentation in adherence to internal audit professional standards, best practices and Corporate Audit's methodology. Assist in the development and communication of findings and recommendations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working knowledge of SAS, SQL or comparable data interrogation tools. Working knowledge of risk assessment and auditing principles. Working knowledge of the insurance industry.

Technical Competence: Introductory understanding of business intelligence tools and strategic management information. Ability to utilize critical thinking by applying process analysis, business intelligence, and problem solving techniques. Introductory understanding of the relationships between financial, operational and technology risks and controls. Introductory knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Introductory understanding of the audit cycle, universe, plan and schedule, including business monitoring. Advanced skills with commonly used office software including: MS Office, email and the internet. Leadership: Ability to plan ahead and organize tasks, manage time well, be on time and be cost conscious. Ability to receive feedback, willingness to learn and ability to embrace continuous improvement. Communication: Ability to demonstrate effective verbal, written and listening communication skills. Ability to articulate messages to business management through formal and informal presentations. Ability to document clear and concise work papers. Build Relationships: Ability to build productive working relationships with co-workers, business management and external parties. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in situations when actions are interdependent and a team is mutually responsible to produce a result. Maintains smooth, effective working relationships; promotes effective teamwork.
