The Law & Regulation Department, which is among the largest corporate law departments in America, serves as the principal law firm for The Allstate Corporation. Our responsibilities include, without limitation, representing the company and our customers in litigation and other legal disputes, and complying with laws and regulations.
The Intake Unit is a key part of the Law & Regulation Team, and its members are responsible for a variety of tasks that support the Law & Regulation attorneys and paralegals, including, in signifcant part, tasks relating to the receipt, review and proper routing of the complaints, subpoenas, foreclosure notices, bankruptcy notices, and other documents served on and/or otherwise transmitted to the legal team (the service of process documents, or theSOPs). Additional responsibilities include such tasks as researching questions relating to the SOPs, assisting the attorneys and paralegals with opening new matters, and other administrative tasks that arise from to time.
Perform data processing and entry of the SOPs and other matters via electronic queues for attorneys and paralegals in the Law & Regulation Department
Make decisions within established procedures and with general supervision based upon the scope of their assigned responsibilities
They will also support administrative duties when workloads permit
Minimum of an Associates Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
Possesses basic writing, researching, proofreading, and formatting skills; and basic communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to rapidly process and enter significant amounts of data accurately
Ability to prioritize work and manage time; with support as needed
Possesses intermediate level computer skills, including a working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF software and web-based applications
Technologically savvy, with ability to quickly learn new technologies
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
