The Home Office Manager provides technical expertise and program management skills to drive initiatives that promote efficiency, drive production and ensure compliance with operating policies for the WCU Line of Business.
Promotes the strategy and growth of WC Underwriting Line of Business by providing expertise and guidance to leadership.
Assist in the development/modification of department goals, plans, procedures and guidelines.
Operate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various technology initiatives.
Support a sales culture that consistently delivers on our brand and product value proposition by producing reports, providing training and monitoring production.
Assist Branch Managers with the training and development of Branch personnel.
Provides SME (Subject Matter Expertise) in WC Underwriting discipline to WCU population and customers.
Accept or reject simple to moderately complex risks, evaluating all risk characteristics (operations, financials, management, employees, prior experience, etc.) as compared to the average in its class and price for profit within Company underwriting guidelines.
Coordinate / Conduct Branch underwriting audits to monitor the quality of the book of business.
Keep alert to and communicates timely information to appropriate WCU parties on industry, legal and financial changes including WCIRB/NCCI rulings, forms and coverage changes; competition; policy issuance and state filings.
Visit producers and participate in company sponsored events.
Manages programs that drive WCU Business
Produces Marketing presentations and special events.
Develops and/or coordinates new programs.
Completes any Company related assignments as directed by Sr. Management.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
