AMCS (Allstate Management Consulting Services) is a trusted internal organization providing integrated consulting services to enable our Allstate clients achieve Our Shared Vision. We leverage enterprise resources to build a stronger business and act as an advisory partner that helps to improve Allstate performance by identifying and analyzing innovative business and technology opportunities, architecting new operating models, designing and improving business processes, and providing organizational redesign services. We understand the organization and are able to influence business strategy by partnering with leadership and acting as connectors, bringing the right voices and fact-based information together so that business and technology leaders can make informed decisions that benefit our customers.
This position reports to a Manager and will be responsible for aiding in the execution of management consulting projects to drive transformative change. In addition this resource will be responsible for supporting the development of lower-level team members, aiding in the maintenance of the methodology of the consulting services, and cultivating and fostering complex client partnerships and relationships. This resource should be knowledgeable in one or more consulting service methodologies.
Relationship Building: Builds, cultivates, and maintains relationships. Intentionally builds their network. Develops positive relationships based on trust with business and technology partners.
Communication: Communicates effectively, delivering messages that resonate with the audience. Succinctly articulates key messages orally and in written form. Shares information with engagement, project, and interfacing teams.
Corporate Awareness: Understands the organization and client goals and the reasons for those goals. Articulates linkage between business goals and what that means for organization practices.
Project Delivery: Provides basic to moderate complexity management consultation to help clients achieve sustainable leadership and engagement practices. Summarizes research findings. Prepares material for and facilitates medium complexity interviews, focus groups, and workshops with oversight. Designs and presents strategic summaries of analysis and recommendations for multiple audiences. Begins to lead and facilitate others through the design of solutions and strategies. Anticipates and identifies risks and issues. Escalates risks and issues as appropriate.
Team Development: Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Identifies and implements improvements to internal team processes.
Consulting Acumen: Builds broader knowledge of common management consulting tools and methodologies. Understands how and when to apply them based on the situation and specific needs.
Inspirational Leadership (Novice)
Displays integrity, emotional intelligence, and empathetic leadership. Empowers decisions at the right level to speed progress and build accountability. Creates a vision and inspires other to fully engage and follow. Exhibits and encourages others to demonstrate the Allstate Leadership Principles.
Business Acumen - (Intermediate)
Actively seeks knowledge of insurance industry trends and customer expectations. Has an intermediate level understanding of Allstates business operations. Demonstrates the ability to apply business knowledge to achieve work objectives, working closely with clients in meeting their business needs.
Facilitation - (Intermediate)
Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully facilitate meetings where the subject is moderately complex. Contributes in a way to accelerate discussions to a reasonable conclusion. Prepares meaningful and reasonable agendas which focus on a primary purpose. Understands the time and topic limitations relating to successful meetings.
Connector / Systems Thinking - (Intermediate)
Is able to connect ideas and build towards systems focused solutions. Aligns diverse points of view to reach mutually beneficial outcomes. Acknowledges when he/she has made a mistake. Actively listens with an open mind. Sells ideas to team members and associates. Presents a positive image.
Internal Consulting (Intermediate)
Requires occasional coaching in a consulting situation. Identifies and deals effectively with client resistance through dialogue and feedback. Is able to identify outstanding or unresolved issues, and develops and sells a strategy for handling them. Demonstrates confidence, resourcefulness, and drive in meeting consulting objectives. Establishes the ability to influence clients through leadership, enthusiasm, and effective communication. Is able to draw conclusions and make recommendations from incomplete data. Has experience in client interviewing and in listening techniques. Comprehends client perspective and business needs quickly. Willingly works to resolve conflicts, issues, and differences of opinion.
Design Thinking (Novice)
Has foundational training on using design thinking practices to solve moderately complex problems. Is able to envision and proactively design customer focused solutions. Acclimates emerging technologies quickly. Demonstrates analytical, data-driven decision making skills.
Project and Program Management - (Intermediate)
Operates with strong results orientation, holding self and other accountable. Has a foundational understanding of project management including planning, communication, leadership, project integration, and the ability to manage risk, resources, scope, and quality.
Strategic Thinking - (Novice)
Understands Allstates core business drivers at a foundational level. Demonstrates the ability to articulate our business objectives and their alignment to Allstates strategic direction. Successfully assists in preparation of long-range plans for a project. Prioritizes objectives into manageable and measurable units.
Change Champion - (Intermediate)
Designs change processes to achieve adoption of KPIs. Has confidence to challenge status quo with resilience and creates productive tension.
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. A Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree is desired but not required.
3-5 years of experience in consulting or related experience is preferred.
Experience with business projects with a focus on how digital, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies impact optimal business designs is desired but not required.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
