CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking a Claims Supervisor. The ideal candidate will directly supervise the performance and development of a team of Claims Adjusters. Monitors workloads, individual claims activities and provides technical direction.Responsibilities
Analyze key indicators and data to identify opportunities to improve work flow and overall operations performance.
Work with management in forecasting claims trends and achieving best practices outcomes.
Perform quality assurance reviews.
Conduct reserve authorization reviews to ensure claim adequacy and accuracy.
Resolve complex escalated claims issues
Provide technical claims support to the claims division and organization.
Work with management to ensure the goals and strategies are aligned with divisional and organizational vision and goals.
Responsible for the proper day to day direction and work assignments of assigned staff. This includes establishing and maintaining appropriate staffing levels to meet team needs and performance/target goals.
Participate in the recruitment and hiring process; performance management process, communicates team goals and assists individuals in achieving established annual goals and maintains metrics relating to the team goals and individual goals; and assists management in the development of less tenured employees.
Coordinates with management in providing feedback and coaching to assigned staff.
Assist individuals in achieving established goals and maintains metrics relating to the team and individual goals.
Provide leadership and career development to support organizational succession planning.
Manage a caseload, if necessary.
Completes special projects as assigned by manager and performs other duties as assignedQualifications
Strong technical claims knowledge with prior successful experience in a workers' compensation claims management environment.
Knowledge of Department of Insurance (DOI), NCCI, ICA rules and regulations. Analyze, interpret, and apply laws, rules and regulations pertaining to workers compensation.
Excellent organizational skills to manage the demands of the position and to ensure deadlines are met.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff.
Ability to plan, forecast, and set objectives and determine best course of action.
Ability to manage organizational change; to maintain a systematic perspective; to involve and influence others to accept new ideas or innovative approaches; to lead in a team-based environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general PC knowledge.
