Customer Service Trainee

Tower Hill Insurance Group is searching for Customer Service Trainee to join our team in Gainesville, Florida.

Job Title:              Customer Service Trainee

Department:         Operations                                               


Performs a variety of insurance related data entry activities in accordance with established departmental guidelines for a period of 6 to 12 months to learn Tower Hill computer systems. If employee performs satisfactorily, he/she will move into a Tower Hill Service Representative position when one is open.


  • Key in policy changes to the Rating & Policy Management system.
  • Learn other company systems, the data they display, and how to add or amend that data.
  • Maintain knowledge of company’s insurance products and procedures.
  • Adhere to new methods and procedures as changes are implemented.
  • Perform daily audits.
  • Consistently meet or exceed the established quantity and quality standards of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Windows. Ability to type 100 keystrokes per minute with a 95% accuracy. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent is required. At least 12 months of office, clerical, and computer experience required.  One to two years of service background dealing with customers and/or call center experience. Work history in insurance services or related service industry background a plus.  Having a  4-40 Florida Customer Service License is a plus.  Customer Service job assessment test required.

Language Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to read and interpret documents, requests from customers, memos, and department guidelines which may be in the form of FAQ’s, written summaries, or spreadsheets. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently by telephone, e-mail, mail, live chat, and in person.  Bi-lingual is a plus.


AA degree and/or Professional Insurance Designations preferred.
