Job Description

As an Associate Manager in the Market Research and Insights department you will be responsible for coordinating and executing qualitative and quantitative research projects. You will work with research suppliers and internal business partners as you plan and field primary research, analyze research data (qualitative, quantitative, and secondary sources), report research findings, and make insightful and actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate is research oriented, curious about customer/consumer attitudes and behaviors, and has demonstrated the ability to tell a story with data and information.


Candidate must have strong analytic problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

Strong communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand and transform business objectives into actionable research initiatives.

Candidate must have the ability to handle multiple projects and to be detail oriented.

Candidate must consistently demonstrate the ability to plan, execute, and complete a wide variety of projects in a timely manner.

Candidate must demonstrate confidence in representing the voice of the customer/consumer to business partners.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently and be flexible to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate must feel comfortable and confident working with cross-functional teams.

Candidate must display good interpersonal skills - a positive, cooperative attitude that fosters collaboration and teamwork - both inside and outside the department.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

Partner with associates on the Digital Safety team to explore opportunity areas, specifically as it relates to the customer/consumer.

Structure research that helps answer questions across the teams horizons: long-term strategy (5+ years), short-term strategy (1-4 years) and product strategy (feature definition and selection)

Gather requirements and manage the execution of research studies to validate hypotheses.

Understand consumer landscape and marketplace trends that could lead to opportunities for Digital Safety. Conduct competitive and analog research: set up, maintain, and leverage a sensing and scanning capability that enables the team to identify emerging opportunities and threats and modify its strategy accordingly.

Interpret a range of existing primary and secondary research sources to identify trends relevant to our customers/consumers.

Coordinate and manage relationships with other research groups within Allstate and outside the company.

Methodology expertise: Scout and select new research methodologies with the potential to speed up the teams learning cycles.

Knowledge management: Own and manage a library of knowledge to facilitate quick access to relevant insights and information.

Experience with research on emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, cybersecurity) and/or supporting start-ups and product/strategy teams is a plus.

Build and manage a consumer panel to be utilized for quick response, exploratory, and low risk research needs.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, social science, or related is required; Graduate's degree a plus.

5+ years of consumer insights experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies is required.

Must be able to very effectively time manage and juggle multiple projects and priorities.

Excellent report writing and storytelling skills are a must

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in technology fields

Candidate must have proficient computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Survey software and SPSS a plus).

Experience with research on emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, cybersecurity) and/or supporting start-ups and product/strategy teams is a plus.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
