Responsible for managing various aspects of compensation's operational procedures, including evaluating, analyzing and maintaining compensation related applications and supporting processes. Responsible for creating business process flows, process designs, functional specifications and impact analysis. Collects, processes, balances and analyzes data from selected compensation applications to produce reports, metrics, process data and compensation actions. Assists in identifying new compensation related technology needs and the software products to fulfill these needs. May make updates to existing programs to gather and report data as necessary. May be responsible for project management. This job does not manage staff. This job works under General Supervision: Incumbent independently performs a variety of duties, including potentially complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments (e.g. assigned customers, claims or other specified set of responsibilities); is expected to set priorities and meet specific goals and objectives of the function or unit.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages and supports multiple applications/systems used by compensation (e.g. compensation planning, job description writing, market analysis, etc.) - Test new or updated functionality and troubleshoot issues - Work with vendor where applicable to open and follow-up on customer support tickets - Research and implement new application/system releases and fixes - Perform selected application/system administration duties (e.g. access and security set-up, table maintenance and updates,data loads/updates, archive historical data/views, etc.) - Assist with implementation of new or updated technologies/applications, including identification and implementation of change management steps needed to effectively adapt - Ensure application/system and process documentation is up-to-date - Develop and deliver end-user training and help guides as needed Supports the Compensation Planning Processes (base salary increases, cash and stock-based incentives) - Assists with establishing the process calendars and identifying cross-functional dependencies that must be integrated into the plan - Responsible for data management, including ensuring required information is loaded into the compensation planning application, extracted, loaded and balanced as it is loaded into downstream systems/applications/vendors - Assist with analysis as needed - Assist with developing, testing and generating required reports as needed Manage assigned day-to-day compensation operations - Ensure main employee database/application received updated information in a timely manner (e.g. cash and stock based incentive information, salary plan/geographic differential values, pay ranges, etc.) - Assist with the administration of the Compensation Reporting Warehouse - Responsible for data management - Design administrative processes - Perform complex operational responsibilities - Monitor, track and resolve process and data issues Assist with compensation data analytics and reporting Identify, document and manage compensation technology proposals, needs and selected projects. Perform other duties as assigned
Five years of experience managing and analyzing large data sets imported and exported from various applications/systems. Demonstrated strong analytical skills using excel or other analytical software/tools. Detail orientation.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's Level Degree information systems, business or related field Experience functioning as a system admin strongly preferred Demonstrated experience working with multiple data formats (.xlsx, .csv, .txt) Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience providing technical/operational support for Human Resources / Compensation. Project management experience. Strong communication skills. Ability to balance timeliness and accuracy.
Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Operational point of contact for compensation technologies. Create weekly compensation download file. Support the comp planning system RFP process and the potential implementation of a new comp planning application. May be responsible from a data perspective for creating more complex queries for a variety of files to support analysis and reporting requirements. Review and validate shared drive (e.g., apeqs, G/exec comp) security access on a semi-annual basis, ensuring only those with approval have access and sign-off for access received from approvers. Other duties as assigned.
