1. General Summary
The primary focus of the position is to develop regular contact with policyholders to review and update existing policies, and quote and issue new insurance policies. This team member will also provide service support for policyholders needing assistance with changes, endorsements and related insurance service needs. The team member in this position will also assist with the operation of the service center.
2. Essential Functions
-Quote and issue new insurance policies
-Provide sales and retention support for counter accounts including, calling on lead lists, and calling on lapsed and cancelled policies.
-Generate leads and referrals for insurance and membership products
-Maintain minimum performance standard for lead generation and production
-Follow-up on quotes and x-dates.
-Answer questions and process insurance transactions
-Perform Annual Policy Reviews
-Cross-sell insurance lines to existing policyholders.
-Enroll new AAA members.
-Promote the Club's Member Action Plan ("MAP").
-Physical attendance at the job site is an essential job duty.
-Assist with general office operations as needed, including:
-Preparation of the Daily Report
-Maintenance of financial controls
-Order supplies as needed
-Assist in resolution of member complaints
-Assist in maintaining a professional office environment

4. Demands / Complexity
Position involves recurring work situations which do not conform to set procedures. Job involves a moderate to high level of complexity/difficulty. Position operates from established and well-known procedures either written or implied, with some latitude for independent action.
Position operates independently under general supervision. Decisions are made within general company policy constraint but may occasionally require independent decision-making.
Position is responsible for reviewing a large volume of insurance files containing confidential/sensitive information. Position is not accountable for budget preparation or compliance. Informally makes recommendations concerning long-range operational planning, but is not involved in long-range strategic planning.
Work is checked through routine insurance department processes (i.e., new business applications, business order, call reports, etc.) Errors and/or omissions in writing/processing insurance policies could result in coverage gaps, policy lapses, incomplete coverages, etc. Financial exposure from lawsuits and/or loss of agent's license to conduct insurance business.
5. Supervisory Responsibility
Job is not supervisory in nature.
6. Specific Job Skills
Organizational and time management skills are required. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to make decisions using sound judgment. Strong sales ability and customer service skills required. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Ability to type and use calculator. Basic computer skills required. Position requires repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
7. Education / Experience
High school education or equivalent. P&C license required.
8. Job Conditions
Job encounters extensive member contact and telephone usage. Extensive computer work required. Occasional overtime or evening/weekend hours may be required. Normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
