Your Role on Our Team
As a Systems Engineer Lead in the Enterprise Software Security Applications (ESSA) Team, you will engineer applications for the Application Development Lifecycle. This teams goal is to efficiently design and deliver industry standard based solutions in support of the Application Development Lifecycle Processes (Requirements Management, Release Planning, Application Development, Testing, Application Build and Deploy). Application Development is foundational to Progressives business and these technologies are critical.
You will be an expert resource across multiple technologies, and will work on tasks of significant and critical impact and complexity. You will define and be accountable for complex work delivery which requires leading others and managing expectations with sponsors, customers and peers. Using superior judgment skills, you will select creative methods and techniques to solve problems and enhance capabilities. You will successfully adapt to and lead through change, learn technologies and business processes quickly and deeply, and work both independently and within a team environment.
Must Have Qualifications
Associate's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related, and a minimum 6 years working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems
Instead of a degree 8 years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment
What Else We Look For
Solid understanding of all areas in an IT environment, with the technical capability to use standard computer interfaces, operating system components, utilities, production schedulers, scripting programming languages, application programming languages, and large system environment hardware components (i.e., CPU, disk, and tape technologies)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, which could include levels of management and external vendors
Excellent organization skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and/or assignment simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities
Support of department goals that align with current and future Company objectives and initiatives
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to find successful resolutions for complex issues, escalating those that require management involvement, when necessary
Desire to stay current on technology trends and operational concepts and tools
