In an effort to continue our expansion plans in Nevada, CopperPoint Mutual Insurance Company has a great opportunity for a Field Marketing Underwriter. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience underwriting and marketing all lines of business; i.e. Workers Compensation, Commercial Property. General Liability, Auto and Umbrella. The candidate will reside in Arizona, Nevada or Colorado.




  • Territory Travel: conduct a minimum of 1 agency visit per month for the assigned agents to drive flow and production
  • Book Development: continue to develop Workers Compensation book of business with assigned agents
  • Agent/Broker Relationships: develops agency relationships to build pipeline, agency intelligence and drives performance to meet and exceed results
  • Risk Selection: evaluate and assess accounts by reviewing operations and exposures and determining proper pricing, policy terms and conditions in accordance to underwriting guidelines and authority
  • Book Management: Manage portfolio to achieve flow, premium and profitability goals
  • Product Development: investigate, recommend and assist product development efforts and best practices, including controls and procedures
  • Industry Knowledge: keeps current on state/territory issues, regulations and trends



  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience with workers’ compensation underwriting
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of underwriting experience preferred
  • Prior experience underwriting and marketing commercial lines; i.e. property, general liability, auto, umbrella, etc.
  • Possess strong sales and marketing skills
  • Teamwork, communication and negotiation skills are required
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of underwriting processes, coverages, and pricing   methodology
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners
  • Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter(CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Associate Underwriter (AU) designations a plus
