Here is what you will do:
•Prepare and submit filings to state Departments of Insurance
•Review filing rules and checklist in System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings for appropriate state
•Review product management proposal. Amend forms or Guidelines as necessary.
•Respond to objections raised to filings which may involve revisions of policy forms and/or drafting of amendments.
•Effectively communicate and develop relationships with various state regulatory bodies.
•Submit and manage IT Requests for changes/new programs
•Write and maintain technical manuals.
•Notify internal stakeholders when new product or product changes are in production via Routing Memo
•Research and evaluate state insurance laws regarding new and existing product filings. Recommends changes to management as necessary to meet applicable state laws and regulations.
•Additionally responsible for co-ownership of Renters products – coverage, pricing, forms, P&L research, etc.
•Measure and monitor performance of states, initiatives and identified segments.
•Gather and analyze publicly available information about competitors, products, markets and government regulations.
•Assess and communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders
•Represent the Company at internal and industry meetings.
A successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
•3-5 years experience in Property & Casualty insurance is preferred, including knowledge of coverage's, policy forms, terms and structure.
•BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field is preferred.
•Written and verbal communication – candid, clear and concise. Ability to match style, tone and method to the audience. Ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences.
•Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Professional.
•Some data mining and analysis skills are preferred, including Microsoft Access and basic programming for statistical purposes.
•Adept at web-based research
•Sensitivity to working with company proprietary information
