We have a position open in Tampa, FL for Market Manager, Supply Chain Operations This job is responsible for maintaining and managing the health of the AFS supply chain management practice for the assigned markets in order to meet and exceed 1) client performance requirements and 2) AFS profitability goals. Key Responsibilities
  • Be primary decision maker for local vendor efforts including recruitment and ongoing vendor relationship management. Funnel successful vendor recruits to the vendor admin team for onboarding
  • Makes day to day decisions to continue, expand, reduce, or eliminate contractual relationships with vendors.
  • Review with vendors their performance; provide feedback and education on best practices.
  • Conducts investigations to determine subcontractor contract compliance; develops and provides contract compliance action plans and/or contract non-renewal recommendations in instances of irreparable non-compliance
  • Develops, coordinates, and presides over on-site contract compliance related vendor meetings, strategy sessions, and education seminars Hold local conferences to meet local vendors and provide such feedback.
  • Encourages and negotiates with vendors on best practices. Counsels and persuades vendors to improve existing business practices.
  • Responsible to 1) ensure the vendor coverage for each market while 2) balancing tactics/opportunities to negotiate discounted prices with vendors and to achieve “discount penetration” goals (that impact profits).
  • Follow direction from Regional Leader to implement next-generation “execution platform” for the assigned markets; including the definition and maintenance of “Local Areas”
  • Serves as approver to vendor adjustments in assigned market
  • Handle Tier 2 vendor escalations (Austin HQ will handle Tier 1 issues as they arise)
  • Perform property level assessments (pre and post) (backfill/supplement Property and Field Quality Specialist)
  • Reacts quickly to facilitate unannounced customer visits and customer quality examinations
  • Manages customary duties of an external, field employee (schedules travel, maintains budget requirements, tracks expenses, etc.)
  • Performs emergency evaluations in declared disaster areas
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Support the local staff of Property Specialists and Field Quality Specialists to develop a team culture, as well as to back them up as needed
  • Participate (with the Regional leader) in preparing annual forecasting for the assigned market(s) to include, budget, headcount, etc.
  • Develops team members by holding regular coaching sessions to improve skills and/or modify behavior
  • Writes and delivers employee performance reviews, provides performance feedback, makes hiring decisions and administers disciplinary action, when necessary
  • Responsible for the oversight and performance of designated direct reports and further guide those in direction of their individual teams
  • Identify the internal and external training needs to maximize department functionality
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • 2 years of experience in homebuilding or home services preferably in residential or multifamily construction or repair.
  • 1 year experience interfacing with vendors (or working as a vendor)
  • A current state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to travel typically 4 days per week - extended travel time is occasionally required
  • Outside working conditions are prevalent. Must be able to tolerate temperatures (hot/cold), dust/dirt, noise, dry/damp, rain/snow, dark/bright, and seasonal allergies.
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • 1 year experience managing 1-2 direct reports.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • 2 years of homebuilding and quality control, vendor contract management, mortgage servicing or any aspect of real estate activity
  • General Contractor License, preferred
  • EPA Certified Lead Safe Renovator, preferred
