Casualty Claim Representative

Location: Boston, MA
Compensation: TBD

About the Role

Join a highly respected property and casualty insurance provider with a strong presence across New England, known for its commitment to protecting personal and commercial auto, homeowners, condo owners, and renters. As a Casualty Claim Representative, you’ll play a pivotal role in handling complex first and third-party bodily injury claims, including those that progress through litigation.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated claims professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a meaningful impact in claims resolution and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage, liability, and compensability.

  • Investigate claims by conducting interviews with insureds, claimants, and witnesses.

  • Evaluate the validity of bodily injury claims, including UM/UIM and excess/umbrella exposures.

  • Manage complex claims from first notice through resolution — including litigation if attorney-represented.

  • Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials as required.

  • Negotiate directly with injured parties or their legal representatives to reach fair settlements.

  • Document claim activity accurately and maintain timely file updates in compliance with best practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 5–10 years of experience handling liability claims, including commercial auto, personal auto, homeowners, UM/UIM, and excess/umbrella exposures.

  • Strong knowledge of litigation, arbitration, and trial processes, including handling out-of-state and PIP claims.

  • High self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced claims environment.

  • Advanced skills in coverage analysis, negotiation, medical evaluation, and subrogation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at handling sensitive, complex claim scenarios.
