Allstate Insurance to create 2,250 jobs with North Carolina expansion

Allstate Insurance Co. plans to create 2,250 new jobs in North Carolina, doubling their workforce in Charlotte area by 2020.

Gov. Roy Cooper and leaders of the insurance company announced the expansion is set to begin in 2018. The expansion is estimated to cost over $22 million in local and state incentives. Allstate must meet certain requirements in job creation and wage levels to receive most of those incentives.

Allstate plans to hire for a range of insurance sectors, including claims and actuarial services, product underwriting and customer service.

According to Harriet Harty, an Allstate executive vice president for human resources, says  “It will be a combination of new jobs, as well as what I would say current employees, so we're still putting the final touches on what those actual jobs are going to be. Let's just say there's no shortage of possibilities."
