Production Services Technical Architect wanted!
Position Summary
Unitrin Direct Auto Insurance is currently seeking a full-time Technical Architect for our Plymouth Meeting, PA office with significant technical knowledge in Networking, Internet, Security, Microsoft operating systems and system software. This Architect will assist with the development, maintenance and support of both a 24x7 production and application development architecture.
The role will provide architecture consultation to the application development teams in the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
Responsibilities include configuration, tuning, capacity planning and load testing of all enterprise hardware and software in a VMware virtualized environment.
Qualifications:
• MCSE (required)
• Experience and understanding of VMware VSphere 4.0 and associated tools required.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on system administration experience with Microsoft platforms.
• Thorough understanding of local area networks, wide area networks, network protocols and architecture.
• Experience with patch upgrade, data storage devices, system backup, file systems, network setup and performance tuning.
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, a related discipline or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience in the direct-to-consumer business a plus.
• Experience with Citrix a plus.
• Experience supporting VB6, SQL, .NET, ASP and HTML a plus.
• Understanding and experience with a Storage Area Network, EMC Clariion CX3 series or HDS a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
• Working knowledge of web processing/design, software development and service oriented architecture
• Strong understanding of security in a Microsoft environment (Active Directory, LDAP, firewalls) with ability to suggest improvements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operations management, network architecture, application hosting, server administration, and configuration management.
• Detailed understanding of data center operations, risk management, disaster recovery, business resumption and backup/restore strategies.
