SUMMARY:
The Sr. SAS Administrator will work with a diverse team and a multitude of technologies. This position also offers the opportunity to work with both IT and various Lines of Business users to ensure that the SAS servers as well as security infrastructure and its systems and processes are aligned with tactical and strategic information management initiatives. Strong analytical, communication, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
* 5 years or more years of experience with SAS product Suite 9x, including Enterprise Guide, PC SAS, SAS STAT, SAS GRAPH, SAS CONNECT, SAS ACCESS products, etc.
* Experience in building SAS Metadata Server and setting up Metadata Repository
* Strong knowledge of the UNIX operating system, (Solaris, AIX, Linux) & the Windows Operating System
* Platform administration with SAS Management Console and administration of SAS client applications
* Knowledge of SAS architecture and operational workings
* Strong SAS administration skills
* Install and maintain SAS Systems
* Develop processes to increase efficiency of SAS environment
* Establish best practices for managing the SAS environment
* Maintain Awareness of new SAS releases, patches and upgrades. Install as appropriate
* Monitor storage growth and work with user areas to develop purge criteria
* Provide guidance and assistance to SAS developers on operational and technical issues.
* Ability to work well in both individual and team environments, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills and have ability to manage time, difficulty and priorities of multiple tasks effectively

Has a solid working knowledge of capabilities and direction of technology, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the technology required and the needs of business environment necessary to support assigned systems and/or projects. Develops solutions to meet business needs that reflect a clear understanding of the objectives, practices and procedures of the corporation, department and business unit. Has thorough understanding of staff responsibilities, abilities and development needs

Leadership
Manages functional objectives and priorities supporting multiple assigned business units. Responsibilities are assigned with latitude for setting priorities and decision-making using generally accepted guidelines. Results are reviewed with next level manager for clarification according to predefined objectives

Planning and Project Management
Develops operational plans and provide task resource estimation planning.  Proposes action plans that are timely, realistic and positive.  Sets appropriate goals for the area and monitors progress against the plan. Delegates to maximize organizational effectiveness
