POSITION SUMMARY:

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Experience / Qualifications: 
Bachelor¿s Degree Required
5+ years experience in end to end Data Warehouse development.  Experience with Teradata is desirable.
Experience in warehouse development methodologies and technologies, including ETL and BI Reporting Layer design, development, build, test and implementation is a requirement.
Experience as a Project Manager required.
Ability to build partnerships with technical resources within the organization, and with vendors.
Technology - Strong background in RDBMS technologies and exposure to ETL and Reporting tools. 
Prior experience with the following would be a plus: Teradata, Ab Initio, AIX/UNIX, Cognos, MicroStrategy, database performance management, capacity planning, security, and scalability.

Breadth of Responsibility
This individual will be the overall owner of the MI technical solution
Ensures the solution conforms and is built and implemented as planned across multiple involved systems and works with the PM to coordinate Change Controls across multiple systems
Accountable for maintaining a big picture view of the business initiatives supported for one or more budget codes, from budget planning thru implementation
Ensures interface integrity with all impacted applications outside of MI
Adherence to Delivery Methodology
Responsible for adhering to all internal checkpoints/reviews
Partners with external areas to assure smooth transition into production support
Partners with PM to ensure the Work Breakdown Structure is completed by the Team Leads and includes all pertinent info
Supports project closure activities
Resource Planning and Management
Partners with Team Leads to perform high level project planning and coordination of MI resources across owned projects
Provides feedback on all project participants to applicable resource management
Utilizes and promotes new processes, procedures and tools, and assures compliance

Issue/Risk/Change Control Mgmt
Serves as escalation point:
If technical problems are encountered when building the solution to identify and recommend changes
When a PIBT area has resource constraints that cannot be resolved by the associated Team Lead
Provides options and suggestions to resolve scope or budget issues
Partners with the Project Manager to resolve issues and assure timely completion of projects and enhancements
Provides input on timelines and options to Area Head for negotiation
Identifies shared components with other projects scheduled for the same version/release and works closely with other TSOs to understand dependencies and mitigate risk
Assesses and communicates impact and risk of all owned projects

Leadership

Responsibilities are assigned with latitude for setting priorities and decision-making using generally accepted guidelines. Results are reviewed with next level manager for clarification according to predefined objectives

Develops operational plans and provide task resource estimation planning.  Proposes action plans that are timely, realistic and positive.  Sets appropriate goals for the area and monitors progress against the plan. Delegates to maximize organizational effectiveness

Financial Awareness
Has budget responsibility for an organizational unit of 5 to 25 employees and/or a budget of between $1M and $10M.  Develops a portion of an overall divisional budget subject to review and is responsible for expense control for the units assigned. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives can result in delays or inefficiencies resulting in readjustment of resources and/or staff. Responsible for important and confidential information

Human Resource Management
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills by displaying an understanding of the needs and perspective of others.  Able to balance the workload of team members and supervise individuals of varying abilities.  Able to identify the talents of others and match them to the tasks that will best suit the area goals and/or provide growth for the individual.  Able to assess and identify employee skill development needs and put together a training program for the individual. Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of staff performance evaluations and development planning. Recruits and retains effective staff members. Demonstrates a capacity to recognize, value and respect differences across a diverse work force
