Outside Property Claim Representative
The ideal candidate will have experience handling homeowners¿ claims and be capable of working out of their home. You will inspect residential and commercial property losses, primarily in the District of Columbia and surrounding Virginia communities, to determine coverage, estimate damages and settle first party claims.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle personal property claims with exposure generally under $25,000.
Prepare building damage estimates.
Provide quality same day contact of involved parties.
Read and interpret policies, contracts and other technical data to determine policy obligations.
Recognize subrogation and salvage opportunities and handle per required guidelines.
Recognize potential fraud and pursue further investigation with support of SIU.
Deliver high level customer service to policyholders and agents.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
2 or more years of experience in handling residential and/or commercial property losses.
Solid experience in writing building damage estimates and estimating software experience.
College degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Solid knowledge of property claim handling skills to include: Coverage analysis, investigative ability, verification and resource management skills.
Strong computer aptitude and skills.
Ability to travel and be available for catastrophe duty as required.
