This position will be responsible for the build out, implementation, and ongoing leadership of Lean Delivery processes and tools within the Application Development area. The Lean Delivery Expert is a change agent and will train, coach, and support resources through implementation of Lean tools, principles and methodologies to advance WellPoint in its mission to become a world class IT delivery organization. The position will interact and partner heavily with:
· peer IT organizations such as the chief technology office, program and project management and quality assurance teams
· existing application development leaders who have overall accountability for their associates
· change teams such as Global Sourcing, Talent Management and others that are driving change within application development
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provides strategic planning analysis to ELT concerning staffing needs on short to long term basis based on program projections.
- Typically reports to an executive.
- Provides strategic direction for developing enterprise project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risk, contingency plan and allocation of resources.
- Provides expert knowledge of project management methodology approaches, techniques and tools to senior management.
- Directs system analysts, software designers and programmers to determine best methods to achieve project objectives.
- Coaches and mentors project team members; mentors other project managers around project management methodology.
- Determines project scope.
