This position is responsible for researching, analyzing and summarizing insurance department filing statutes and regulations as needed for product development initiatives and as requested. This includes regulatory & statutory review and review of the departmental requirements via the respective department website, rating organization websites, trade association websites and regulatory software such as ComplianceWare. This position also conducts and documents preliminary conversations regarding departmental positions and regulatory interpretations with the appropriate Insurance Department contacts. Provides leadership/training to State Filing Specialists as it pertains to the preparation and submission of filings via SERFF & I-File. This position will provide advice and support for correction of filing compliance issues and will coordinate business unit response to Insurance Department inquiries on filings. Coordinates market conduct support from a filing review/research perspective. Requirements: - The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience in State Filings preferred.
- Prior Experience in the Property/Casualty Regulatory Environment
- Course work in general insurance (INS, CPCU) is preferred.
- Associate in Regulation and Compliance (ARC) designation or equivalent is also preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Microsoft office and internet proficiency.
- Knowledge of company operations and the interdependencies of product development and regulatory affairs.
- Strong project management experience.
