Adjusts complex trucking industry property/casualty claims and cargo losses.
Responsibilities: - Examines claims forms, policies and endorsements
- Investigates claims by interviewing insureds and witnesses and by obtaining official reports
- Sets loss reserves and adjusts as needed
Prepares reports required by client, local, state and federal government and by Crawford & Company Settles claims after determining insurance carrier's liability, reviewing client's instructions and authority levels Pursues subrogation when appropriate Recommends litigation when appropriate May assist less-experienced adjusters with claims handling.
Required - At least 3 years of previous experience adjusting complex trucking, claims cargo loss claims or marine claims with heavy losses.
- Licensed as required by state and local jurisdiction.
- Thorough knowledge of marine/trucking/cargo insurance coverage.
