It is the responsibility of this position to supervise regional premium audit unit. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Oversee and audit complex property and casualty accounts requiring in -depth knowledge of premium auditing.


Visits insureds to audit bookkeeping, payroll, accounting or other relevant records and accordingly assembles facts and data having a bearing in the determination of actual earned premiums for specific classes of casualty insurance. Also, must be able to perform complex audits.


Meet with all interested parties to reconcile discrepancies between audit information and policy statements.


Communicate with insureds, accountants, producers and underwriters as required to develop information necessary to complete audits and document findings to support audit billing.


Make suggestions to insureds and company that would be beneficial to both parties.


Train new or less experienced auditors while encouraging continued education in the field.


Review and evaluate the work of the premium auditing staff and prepare employee performance appraisals.


Complete all administrative reports as required. Distribute all information to unit regarding classification changes, etc.


Review random group of audits quarterly for quality assurance.


Report to Premium Audit Manager regarding problems, questions, or recommendations pertaining to the unit.

High School diploma with 7-10 years premium auditing

Prior Supervisory and Leadership Experience required



College degree preferred.
Preferred experience as follows:
5 years Accounting
2 years Underwriting
2 year Rating

This position requires the attainment of at least one company approved insurance designation.
