Associate Product Manager - General Liability
KEY OBJECTIVE
Provide technical support to Product Manager and Business Units on regulatory filings, compliance issues.  Prepare and submit filings to state insurance departments.  Assist Filing Team on filing issues and submission requirements.  Support overall goals of the Product Support Services Department.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
? Assist business units in maintaining product line forms, rules and rating plans in compliance with regulatory requirements.
? Provide technical advice in the development and utilization of the product lines rates, rules and forms.
? Provide expertise regarding state regulation and compliance as related to product or lines of business issues.
? Review filing documents from Product Managers and Business Units to ensure filing documents are compliant with state laws and regulations prior to submission. 
? Provide guidance and direction to Filing Analysts on filing requirements, to ensure filings are submitted in accordance with the states' general instructions.
? Coordinate and submit responses to insurance department filing criticisms, obtaining necessary information from the business unit, product management, actuarial, legal, or industry services.
? Support the business units with regulatory compliance activities including product research of filed and approved rates, rules and forms in support of audits and market conduct examinations.
? Research and develop reference tools on important product issues for posting to the Intranet as guides for underwriters and business partners.  Update Intranet reference information, as needed.
? Analyze regulatory and legislative changes. Develop and circulate advisory bulletins as appropriate.
? Prepare and submit filings to state insurance departments.
? Follow-up on pending filings to ensure timely review and approval from the departments of insurance.
? Keep customers informed as to the status of filings, highlighting key changes.
? Manage special projects, as may be needed including regulatory matters that are corporate in nature or cross lines of business for admitted and non-admitted business such as cancellation and non-renewal requirements and company licensing.

SCOPE
? Consistently follow guidelines for product filings to ensure speed to market implementation of insurance products.
? Complete filings in an accurate and timely manner to avoid rejection of filings or insurance department criticism on filing submission.

Identify reporting relationships and key interfaces in organization.
? Report directly to Product Manager, Product Support Services
? Interface with ACE USA Product Managers and Associates and other divisional representatives, Legal, Internal Audit, IT, Financial and other service divisions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor degree or equivalent industry experience in underwriting, product management, state filing and regulatory compliance.
? 10 years minimum in insurance, with experience in underwriting, product management/development, state filing and/or regulatory compliance preferred.
? Familiarity with insurance products and state insurance regulations.
? Proficient with computers, and Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel and Outlook.
? Excellent communications skills with all levels of ACE management are essential.
? Ability to conduct research through paper and the internet.

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
? Effective written and oral communication skills.
? Demonstrates strong attention to detail and commitment to project ownership, accuracy and completion on a timely basis.
? Possesses a high level of technical knowledge and skills, offering technical guidance and training to lower level and new associates.
? Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
? Flexible, adaptable to changing demands, roles and functions
