Position Summary Kemper, a Unitrin Business and leader in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Java Developer to work on our Kemper Enterprise Web Solutions Team in Jacksonville, Florida.
Exciting opportunity to work in an enterprise development team. All application development is web based, meeting the needs on internal users as well as public applications for our consumers and insurance agents.
Opportunity to develop technical skills across Java based Web user interfaces using JSF with IceFaces plus service business layer using Session Beans, MDB, and JPA using RAD and deploying to WebSphere. All development will follow Service Oriented Architecture patterns.

Position Requirements • Two to three years of experience developing J2EE applications using Java. • Prior experience in enterprise level projects. • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of J2EE technologies including Servlets, Web Services, SQL, JDBC, and JSP. • Preferred experience includes using the Struts, JSF, JPA. • Self-starter with the ability to code, test and debug business applications. • Must be able to multi-task while working on many projects in parallel. • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information verbally. • Ability to present written information in a clear, concise, and organized manner. • Ability to gather and analyze facts and draw correct inferences from the information. • Ability to manage own time, activities, and resources. • Education equivalent to a two year degree in an information technology related discipline, or the equivalent in related work experience.
