SUMMARY: The Travelers Human Resources Internship Program provides qualified students an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience, receive valuable on-the-job training and learn about the many aspects of the field of Human Resources.

The internships are located in our corporate offices in Saint Paul, MN and in Hartford, CT.
PRIMARY DUTIES: HR Intern's duties will vary based on their specific assignment and anticipated business needs, but will be within the responsibilities of one of the functions outlined below:
The Talent Acquisition function develops and maintains external recruitment sources for exempt and non-exempt positions, as well as recruits, interviews, assesses, and places applicants to effectively meet company human resources needs.
The Compensation departments is responsible for designing competitive and cost effective total compensation programs, practices, and solutions that support management in leading a high performance culture.
Employee Relations develops an understanding of Employee Relation issues, state and federal employment law regulations and corporate HR policies and procedures. Gain exposure to managing all HR activities for an assigned business group. May assist in the development of HR policies and programs by partnering with other HR specialist functions.
Other internship opportunities may include: HR Generalist, Diversity, Enterprise Leadership and Organization Development and HR Operations
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Human Resources or related discipline Prior related work experience a plus
OTHER: Requirements for Consideration: Desire to work in Hartford, CT or St Paul, MN Preferred GPA of 3.2 or greater Interest in a career in Human Resources Motivation to succeed Strong analytical and communication skills Demonstrated leadership potential Extra-curricular involvement Approximate work availability from June through August (10-12 weeks)
