KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to gather business requirements and translate them to technical community to meet user needs. Works closely with Quality Analysts to translate business requirements to test scripts. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities. • Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications in accordance with ACE and/or industry standards and processes. Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business. • Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Responsible for eliciting functional, data, operational, and usability requirements from Business Users, documenting them per standards ACE processes, and assisting the technical team in their interpretation for implementation. • This role will also be directly supporting two applications within the Web Applications area and will require the ability to execute technical development at certain times. The ability and experience in the development of applications is required.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field; or equivalent work experience • 3- 5 years of relevant technical work experience • Ability to negotiate specs; Illustrates clear understanding of business process disciplines • Insurance and PMO knowledge/experience a plus • Experience with the following technologies: .NET, C#, SQL Server, and MOSS 2007 • Critical Skills: o Adaptability- Agility: Responds well to change; handles multiple demands / priorities effectively; adapts to best fit with situation at hand; handles conflict effectively; collaborates; develops new skills quickly and is willing to accept new responsibilities; takes initiative & demonstrates accountability. o IT Methodologies: excellent organizational skills; experience managing projects and staff; advanced technical and business analysis skills; analyzes tasks, dependencies, and resource needs; manages budgets and performs financial activities effectively; understands system development life cycle (SDLC); proficient use of project methodologies. o Business Knowledge & Learning Orientation: Solves problems; understands fundamentals of insurance, IT best practices, and technology; understands business processes and process improvement; connects business problems to technical solutions; validates that solutions achieve desired business result. o Deliverables Management: Matches business requirements to deliverables; understands & meets deadlines; holds others accountable; proactive identification and management of risk; manages multiple work streams and works effectively across multiple groups (internal and external); experience managing scope and change control. o Effective Communication (written and oral): Responds to customers appropriately, timely, and accurately; manages relationships effectively; influences others; transfers knowledge to others; experience working with multi-vendor projects and related communications challenges.
