Sr. Business Analyst
KEY OBJECTIVE:
Analyze, Design, and Develop BI reports and On-line Queries
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position entails Administration Support (10-20%) and Business analysis (80-90%).
In general, the Administration support will consist of the following:
Production support of daily and monthly interfaces
Analysis and resolution of data related problems
Short range and Long range planning of projects and delivery
Lead projects & staff as required
Enforcement of policies, standards and procedures
Development environment (s) support
In general Business Analysis consists of the following:
Requirements gathering and Analysis
Assist in Data Model design and Development
Lead testing efforts
Conduct interviews with management and other department leaders
Act as a liaison between clients and development departments
Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements
Query Design and development
Assist in OLAP design & programming
Ensure that the system is specified to the satisfaction of both the business and technical communities
SCOPE
This position is part of the ACE USA Operations and MIS Business Unit.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Strong knowledge of COGNOS IBM Cognos v8 development tool suite
Experience in the design and development of OLAP functionality
Excellent communication skills
Strong Analytical Skills
Ability to handle multiple demands / priorities effectively
Experience in system development life cycle and project management methodologies.
Experience managing scope and change control
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance, Experience with Hyperion/Brio or other Business Intelligence tools, SQL, and Strong Data Modeling skills a Plus
