Responsibilities:
• Responsible for underwriting risks related to new and renewal business in Global Accident & Sickness, Special Risk and Group Accident; premium growth and profitability of case underwritten book of business. • Generate new business revenues working closely with regional marketing managers and by developing prospects, participating in presentations to clients/brokers. • Assists with evaluation of performance of the following producer lines – Global Accident & Sickness, Special Risk and Group Accident. • Provide communication and direction for all processing requirements, including policy issuance and endorsements, premium registration and collections issues. • Evaluates reinsurance needs and coordinates as necessary within company and department guidelines. • Maintains performance standards and meets satisfactory quote turnaround times; maintains quote log and manages clearance process with marketing and producers through Tracker. • Assist in underwriting other accident business as assigned. • Participates in auditing of third party producers (if applicable). • Management of one underwriter in the Midwest Region.
• 10+ years experience underwriting A&H products, including business travel accident, voluntary AD&D, student accident, participant accident and travel insurance. • Business degree preferred • Excellent sales/marketing and negotiations skills • Strong knowledge of coverages, loss rating, program design and reinsurance placement • Strong computer skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Team oriented
